The Story Behind Solar Control

Today, Pat runs the shop and Christine keeps the office running smoothly — scheduling appointments, answering questions, and making sure every customer feels welcome the moment they walk in. Together they offer the full spectrum of window tinting services: automotive, residential, commercial, marine, RV, and more — all using exclusively premium metalized and ceramic films.

But Solar Control started long before Pat took the reins. Stan Peeler founded the shop in 1983, seeing a need for quality window tinting in Cape Girardeau. Stan built the business on a straightforward promise: premium materials, expert installation, and honest service. No shortcuts, no cheap films — just work you could trust.

In 1993, Patrick moved to Cape from the St. Charles area and began working for Stan, learning the craft under his mentorship and developing the same dedication to precision and quality that Stan had established from day one. When Stan passed away in 2007, he left the business to Patrick, who made it his mission to keep the legacy going — honoring the standards Stan set while continuing to grow and serve the community.

Over 43 years later, Solar Control continues to serve Cape Girardeau and the surrounding region with the same care and quality that customers in Cape have come to expect. From your daily driver to your office building, every job gets the same attention to detail.
